A HANDSOME PAIR OF PLATES
HR (HenRiot) production, ca. 1905, the concept taken from the Porquier Beau archives. Each is 9-1/4 " diameter, with a 1" wide border, a classic cream soup shape of considerable elegance. Male Figure is partnered with a long-stemmed rose, thoughtfully painted to enhance the colors of his costume. Female Figure surveys luscious iris stems, gathered for the benefit of her sash and apron.
They make a vibrant pair for your table for two, your best wall grouping.
was $595 the pair - now $375, plus shipping

OVAL BLAZONS: TRADITIONAL DUO OF BRITTANY AND QUIMPER
Richly detailed pair, from the AP production, ca. 1870. Each measures 5-1/2" x 4-1/8". The ermine tails of Brittany, the curled-horn ram of Quimper: both instantly recognisable as the finishing motifs of many plates and platters of all periods. Pierced at the top for easy hanging, they lend themselves handsomely to all sorts of wall compositions. In perfect condition.

SOUVENIR ROUND BLAZON: ST. MALO
5-3/4" diameter, signed HB on the back, ca. 1880. Here, the ermine of Brittany runs friskily along a fence top, the traditional motif of the blazon of St. Malo. It makes for an interesting composition to mix the rounds and the ovals, as one collects the various blazons. They are part of the rich heritage of the region. It is in perfect condition.

CREAM OR SYRUP JUG
5" high, 5" across to handle. A smaller version, and created by the de la Hubaudière factory, at the same period of time (well, they all copied each other, and since the inspirations were all derivative anyway, it would be hard to say who came first?). Four ribbon stripes on this smaller size: one could change them about endlessly, looking at the nuances and choosing a favorite pattern! "Lisette", the femme ordinaire is the centerfold on each, nicely framed in the ribbons. In perfect original condition.
was $65 - now $40, plus shipping

ROOSTER CHARGER
12-3/4 diameter; a bold, handsome rooster perched on a fence,
with traditional shrubbery encircling him, the whole scene framed with a vivid wreath-like border. He had modest restoration (consolidation of an incipient hairline at the tip of the défaut de cuisson) and is now in fine condition and eminently useful: just wash gently! No signature, a good indication of age - late 19th century, from either the HB or the HR factory at that time. This is such a wonderful rendition of a classic in a spectacular size!
was $495 - now $275, plus shipping
