Pair of Chinoiserie Vases, ca. 1890.
A direct reference to the Oriental influence shows clearly in this lovely pair. 10" high, base diameter 3-1/4", 5" across widest point. The rounded body is actually eight panels with typical Chinese Chippendale motifs on all but the one anchored by the blazon of Brittany. They are perfectly paired, so that one may play with their arranging: lovely with tulips, and also a perfect form to be made into lamps. The late 19th century HB of the de la Hubaudière factory on the bottoms, as well as our restorer's three red dots...that was for minor conservation measures, they are now in perfect, usable condition.
$500 the pair, plus $50 shipping.
