BLAZON MOTIFS
ALL OF OUR BLAZONS at HALF-PRICE!!
Gourde
Old, decorative, useful! 4-1/2" across, 5-1/2" high, 1-3/4" thick. This lovely flask, designed to carry wine or water, has a rare feminine motif: a seated Bretonne with her distaff and spinning wheel. Verso: a fanciful blazon topped with a crown. The wide flat side loops would indicate that a leather strap threaded through the loops was the correct method for carrying her...and the nicely-rounded mouth would have taken a cork stopper. Factory probably Malicorne, ca. 1900. A modest conservation keeps her intact and useful for a long time to come.
Was $275, now $137.50.

Flask
A souvenir piece for Brest. 5-1/8" high, 4" across widest point of midsection. The blazon of Brest, the blazon of Brittany, each molded in to the sides of this little flask to make a comfortable handgrip. Signed AP, ca. 1880, the main panels show the traditional figures of that period, with floral sprays reaching around the base to frame them and the blazons. The banner circling the neck says "Brest" and "Bretagne", lest you forget!
Was $275, now $137.50.
