DYNAMIC LITTLE JUG

TUREEN LID

10" diameter outside of lid, just under 8" diameter to inner lid cuff. Alas, the post office did a horrendous number on the package this came in (the base is beyond repair), but we cannot bear to jettison a lovely 19th century lid, from the AP factory. Standing up, like a plate, it makes an impressive statement: rich colors, a beautiful glaze, strong decoration. A "bon marché" for someone who has a good spot for it!

TWO OLD MUGS

Endlessly decorative and useful in all sizes, we feel that these ancient pieces have many uses, but preferably not hot coffee or tea! Flowers, pencils, shelf pieces are better ways to show and enjoy them.

UNGLAZED NORMANDY GENTLEMAN CANDLESTICK

9-3/4" tall, 3" base diameter. Never painted, never glazed, therefore, not signed!  We theorize he is from one of the northern faïenceries, since he wears a traditional Normandy costume. A minuscule chip on the right-hand base, hard to discern.

$75, plus shipping.

ART POPULAIRE QUIMPER PLATE

8-5/8" diameter, a charmingly bold example of the simple wreath pattern that first came into use in the 19th century. This deep-dish piece shows no signs of wear, despite its age and useful form. Unsigned, could be either the HB or AP factory, as they both used this decor, with many variations. The colors are so strong and fresh, this is an ideal piece to mix-and-match any period of Quimper.

$75, plus shipping.
