OTHER FRENCH FAIENCE: Glorious reminders that faience has been made in many parts of France for a long, long time. We were truly thrilled with these wonderful old pieces that have survived for so long: they look good with Quimper, they mix with Americana, they strengthen the depth of any collection. |

![]() Tall pitcher: 15-1/4" high, 4-1/2" diameter at the base. S: Mandois A Sinceny, on the front. This needed some restoration but was much too handsome to leave behind, so we had it put in perfect condition. Nevertheless, we would recommend using it, for flowers, say, with a simple plastic insert, just to keep it safe and sound. It is a stunning size, an imposing presence, and a great addition to a collection of early Quimper.$500. |

![]() Seau: 5-3/4" high, 5-1/4" diameter at the top. S: CA, the mark of Alcide Chaumeil. With its original bail handle, it remains the perfect little wine bucket. The typical loop-and-dot border of this faïencerie is here used top, inside and out, and bottom outside. A handsome rendering of a coat-of-arms and a strong scattering of fleur-de-lys and ermine tails. An unusually fine execution of this kind of a piece: the bucket mold actually simulates wood graining and circular bands, even though that detail scarcely shows under the decoration.$750. |

Porte-menu: 3-1/8"diameter, base 2" from front of miniature plate to back of over-sized paw support. S: CA, as the piece above. These came from the same household in Brittany and no doubt did the table honors together.$325. |

Here is a group of four charming Malicorne plates, all 9-1/2" scalloped shapes, bought together, and no doubt from the same household. And we have substantially reduced them to entice you to buy several for a nice grouping. No signature on these, but clearly Malicorne, and with good age.
